THE RED RESPONDERS

Aberration

Your dreams are an aberration and we're here to bring everything back into focus.

In this dreamscape, it's usually just me and the Oneironautic newbies, those greenhorns from Thierstein. They bumble through like kids in a candy store, awed and overwhelmed, easy to steer. But Maja, she's not one of them. She's in the service room now. How did she find that? It's supposed to be off-limits, a secret.

Mental Static

I'm talking to the Root now, the one whose subconscious this dreamscape belongs to. But it's tricky, the connection's shaky, like a bad signal in the middle of nowhere. One moment I'm there, in his head, clear as day. The next, it's like I'm talking to a wall, my words getting lost in some kind of mental static.

Connections always get fuzzy when she's around. Typical. Just shadows and whispers. The plan was to stay back, let her find the red box on her own. Is that still good? Can't tell, the line's all static and echoes.

Fine, going autonomous.

She's a DreamJacker

She's got an edge, a hint of something more beneath the surface. She's not fumbling like the others, not lost in this maze of pools and corridors. She's a DreamJacker. She knows this Konstrukt, feels like she's mapping it, learning its secrets. What's her angle? There's something about her movements, her decisions... subtle, but suspicious.

Ebbinghaus designed this environment to push the boundaries of mental training. Maja's presence introduces an unexpected variable. This session has evolved beyond a simple training exercise, a routine dreamshift. Maja's approach, though seemingly intuitive, does not overshadow the foundation of the exercise. Each move I make, calculated and deliberate, meets a subtle and surprising counter from her, suggesting a depth to her understanding I hadn't anticipated. She's not just transforming the landscape; she's engaging with it in a way that challenges its very purpose. To stay ahead, I must not only anticipate her next move but also understand the nuanced interplay of our actions in this ever-shifting dreamscape.

Even projections don't have it easy

The dreamer's thoughts come through in fragments, broken pieces of agreement or confusion. It's hard to tell.

Got to keep a close eye on her. The others, they just float through, caught up in the novelty of it all. But Maja, she's hunting for something, chasing a ghost that I can't see. I'm here to guide, to control, but with her, it feels like I'm the one being led.

Warping

Then, silence. The connection snaps, and I'm alone in the void for a moment. I feel the dreamer slipping away, the dream world warping, becoming unstable. I've got to pull him back, keep him anchored.

Twisting

Image

This connection's a mess, like trying to talk underwater. The dream's his, but right now, it's like he's barely holding on.

As the dreamer flickers back, a faint echo of his thoughts reaches me. Uncertainty, curiosity, maybe a hint of fear. It's hard to grasp,
