ROBIN

A student with a vision far beyond the ordinary. She harbors a theory that teeters on the edge of conspiracy.

As an undercover journalist, Robin feels close to exposing a major deception.

She suspects the dream servers are a facade, not capturing real dreams but pre-rendered scenes based on psychoanalysis and existing research.

It's a Bluff

There's something wrong with this replay.

They say 'Everything you dream will be recorded' but its a bluff. Such a brain scanner doesn't exist. Not yet. Can it read some of the things I see? No, but it can guess. It's just clever social engineering paired with pre-rendered scenes. Fake it till you make it.

Built to cash in millions of research funding money.

Who's driving this dream?

This isn't any lucid dream. It's the memory phase of SEENA's simulation. You're usually in the dark about this part, but I've... let's say, tinkered a bit with the settings. What it really does is etch a narrative right into your neurons, making you believe you were in the driver's seat of your own dream.

You know, I'd hoped for something more, something smarter than just a fight under the blue sky. But that's the game, isn't it? The program's at the helm, and we're just unwitting passengers. It's all too neat, too simplistic. It leaves you wondering how Ebbinghaus could fool the whole world with such a state-of-the-shit system.

Injecting false memories

I'm the journalist ready to blow away Ebbinghaus' house of cards. SEENA is all smoke and mirrors. It doesn't really manage shared dreaming for the Oneironauts. What it does is scan their brains. Then it injects fake memories, so the students believe they had control over their dreams.

And now, I'm all set to blow the whistle on this charade, to let the world see what's really going on.

The big pitch in Oneironautics? Minds linked in sleep, exploring a shared consciousness.

But it's all a facade, a profit scheme, and I've got the proof. With backing from a source as enigmatic as they are generous, I'm about to send Miyamoto's stock into the cellar. My upcoming article will show you to the power of the press in action.
